About REN
Sharon Luu, or REN, is a multi-genre producer from the Bay Area, California. Outside of music, REN is a student majoring in management information systems and minoring in music at Santa Clara University. REN’s interest in music started when she started learning piano at age seven before joining the school band and later marching band from elementary to high school. However, REN lost interest in music until following a suggestion to start composing from others. She began composition in 2018 then transitioned to production the following year before debuting 2021 with "Wave" on Soundcloud.
In 2022, REN placed second in Ryahu's Zen remix contest. Then in 2023, she was featured on LMMS Opus for their second anniversary, Dreams and Let Me Sleep by Artur B and TheLezerd, respectively. Later that year, REN would win two of Cubisteel's challenges with the tracks: "Memory Lane," and "Reverie". This year, REN was featured on Cameron Pritchard's ep 2023(remixes) remixing: "Come Back At Night". This year also marks the start of her new side project, Near, primarily focusing on creating chill-out and lo-fi songs, debuting with "Tranquil".
